ABOHAR: An 18-year-old basketball player, Rajat Shekhawat, died in a road accident at Sriganganagar in Rajasthan on Saturday.

Abohar, November 6

An 18-year-old basketball player, Rajat Shekhawat, died in a road accident at Sriganganagar in Rajasthan on Saturday.

He was preparing for national Under-19 basketball championship scheduled for January.

The police said Rajat’s motorcycle collided with a car which he probably did not notice due to smog on Hanumangarh road. He was injured in the head.

The car driver took Rajat to hospital, where he was declared brought dead. His family refused to get the postmortem conducted and took the body to its native village near.

His father Jagdish Shekhawat is a Physical Education Instructor in a government school, while his mother is a teacher.
