Una MLA and state BJP president Satpal Satti yesterday said a protest rally would be held on February 27 against the police inefficiency to check crimes such as drug peddling, chain snatching and illegal mining.
In a press release issued here, Satti said the police were insensitive towards rising incidents of crime.
He claimed the role of the police was limited to performing ceremonial drill duties and protecting ministers. Satti accused police officers of pleasing their political mentors to hold on to plum portfolios under the Congress government.
