Shimla, February 17

CITU workers led by CPM leader Rakesh Singha today protested in front of the HPCL office here and demanded immediate solution to the protracted dispute of workers of the 450 MW Shongtong power project in Kinnaur.

Addressing the workers, Singha charged that both the HPCL and Patel company were hand in glove in crushing peaceful protest and genuine demands of the workers and the local tribals.

Singha said despite long protest by workers, the state government has turned a blind eye towards genuine demands of workers and local tribals. The government is playing in the hands of the private company and least bothered to resolve the issue pending since last year, he lamented.
