CM’s ‘towering’ presence at rally

SAD’s publicity managers had put up  life-size cardboard cut-outs of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal not only at the rally venue, but also on highways and roads leading to Moga. 

There was none of Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal. Some posters and banners too did not carry his pictures. Observers say this was a well-thought-out move by SAD strategists.

The Akali leadership feels the CM is the only one in the party who can turn the tide in the party’s favour with his simple mannerism and exceptional oratorical skills. The Deputy CM will concentrate on micro management, imparting lessons to candidates on how to go about.
