A delegation of the Congress led by state president Kishore Upadhyay met Governor KK Paul at the Secretariat today and demanded a CBI inquiry into all scams that have occurred since the formation of the state.

Upadhyay said a CBI inquiry was conducted against former Chief Minister Harish Rawat in the CD sting case but no inquiries had been constituted in the scams committed since the inception of the state.

He said several scams have been unearthed in the state and a CBI inquiry should be conducted in all of them without any delay.

Upadhyay said that Union government was conspiring to defame Harish Rawat due to political bias, thus hurting the democratic sentiments of the country which would not be tolerated by the Congress at any cost.
