Dhaliwal to head PSEB for another year

CHANDIGARH: Dr Tejinder Kaur Dhaliwal will continue to head the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) for another year.



Chandigarh, January 5

Dr Tejinder Kaur Dhaliwal will continue to head the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) for another year. The Punjab Government has extended her term till January 8, 2017. Her three-year term was slated to end on January 8 this year.

A notification to this effect was issued by Principal Secretary, School Education, C Roul. It stated that the terms and conditions of the extended term, from January 9, 2016, to January 8, 2017, would remain the same.

Hailing from Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal’s Muktsar district, Dr Dhaliwal was appointed PSEB chairperson in January 2013 for three years. A former principal of Guru Nanak College for Girls in Muktsar, she has a PhD in home science extension education. Dr Dhaliwal started her career as an assistant professor at Home Science College in Kaoni, and has also worked as associate professor at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Faridkot, before being elevated as principal of Guru Nanak College for Girls in 2002. — TNS
