UNA, JANUARY 16

Industries Minister Mukesh Agnihotri today inaugurated a sub-employment exchange at Haroli sub-division in Una district. He also laid the foundation stone of a village link road to be completed at a cost of Rs 60 lakhs and distributed bicycles, induction stoves and washing machines to 721 MNREGA daily wagers.

Addressing a gathering at Haroli, the minister informed that the newly inaugurated employment office was the 68th in the state. He said names of more than 11,000 unemployed youth, registered at the Una district employment exchange, have been transferred to the Haroli sub-exchange. These youth will be able to get services at their doorsteps.

Calling upon the deserving youth to take the benefit of the skill development scheme for opening employment opportunities, the minister said a sum of Rs 115 crores has been spent in the state to benefit 58,000 unemployed youth. He informed that in Haroli segment alone, a sum of Rs 2.5 crores had been spent to benefit 2,700 youth under the scheme.
