Hizb worker held in Baramulla

SRINAGAR: The J&K Police today claimed to have arrested a Hizbul Mujahideen worker from north Kashmir’s Baramulla town.

The J&K Police today claimed to have arrested a Hizbul Mujahideen worker from north Kashmir’s Baramulla town.

The arrested Hizbul Mujahideen worker has been identified as Ghulam Ahmad Sofi, alias Jany Baba, of Juhama, Baramulla.

A police spokesperson said two live grenades and a satellite phone were recovered from Sofi’s possession.

“During the course of investigation it was revealed that he was working for the revival and expansion of the banned outfit in the Kashmir valley, particularly in Baramulla,” said the spokesperson.
