INLD claims its workers won 70% seats

KURUKSHETRA: The INLD has claimed its workers and supporters have won 70 per cent of seats of panch and sarpanch in the first phase of panchayat elections on Sunday.

Kurukshetra, January 12

The INLD has claimed its workers and supporters have won 70 per cent of seats of panch and sarpanch in the first phase of panchayat elections on Sunday.

“According to reports, INLD workers have won around 70 per cent of seats in Thanesar block. Similar reports are coming from across the state,” state INLD chief Ashok Arora said today.

The INLD, BJP and Congress are not contesting the elections on their symbols, but their workers, officer-bearers and supporters are in the fray. “INLD-supported candidates are in fray for zila parishad chairmen. The party is making efforts to ensure their win. The post of the Kurukshetra zila parishad chairman has always been with an INLD supporter. And this time will be no different,” Arora said. — TNS
