Inter-CPSU table tennis tourney ends

KHAIRI (CHAMBA): The four-day 19th Inter Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) Table Tennis tournament concluded here today.

The four-day 19th Inter Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) Table Tennis tournament concluded here today. Ten teams from the power sector — Ministry of Power, Central Electricity Authority, Damodar Valley Corporation, Power Grid, NEEPCO, SJVNL, PFC, BBMB, THDC and NHPC — participated in it. The Himachal Pradesh Table Tennis Association conducted the tournament.

In singles, J. Mukherjee of Power Grid, Jeta Ukhal of SJVNL and Ravi Chaudhary of Power Grid emerged as winner, 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up, respectively, in the four-day 19th Inter Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) Table Tennis tournament.

Three events, team, doubles and singles table tennis tournaments, which were organised by NHPC Limited, concluded at the Sports Arena on the premises of NHPC’s Chamera Power Station-I at Khairi in Chamba district.

In doubles, J. Mukherjee and Charanjeet Singh of Power Grid emerged winner and 1st runner-up while the team of Inderesh of the Ministry of Power, Naresh Chhibber of CEA, Paramjit Singh and Navneet Gupta of BBMB emerged as 2nd runners-up, respectively.

In the team event, Power Grid, SJVNL and BBMB were winner, 1st runners-up and 2nd runners-up, respectively. Felicitating the winners and participants on the occasion of the closing ceremony, the chief guest, Balraj Joshi, Director (Technical), NHPC, congratulated the winning teams and appreciated all players for their participation. Trophies, medals and certificates were presented to the winners on behalf of the Power Sports Control Board.

S. Kalgaonkar, Executive Director, Regional Office, Jammu, and NS Parmeshwaran, General Manager, Chamera Power Station-I, were also present on the occasion.
