Is Kidman a Trump supporter?

Nicole Kidman has never before commented on politics and has always refrained from doing so. In a surprising turn of events though, Kidman, who was present at the Golden Globe Awards along with co-star Reese Witherspoon of Big Little Lies, which will soon premiere in India on Star World Premiere HD on February 21, spoke of the situation in America.

The actress said, “I’m issue based ... I comment on the things that I’m ... so ... I just say he’s now elected and we as a country need to support whosever the president is because that’s what the country’s based on and ... however that happened, he’s there, and let’s go.” Soon, she was blasted by audiences from around the world and on social media websites for showing her support for Donald Trump, some even admitting to banning her movies in the future. 

However, the Oscar winner has now gone ahead to slam critics for misconstruing her statement by clarifying her stance on the subject. She insisted that her comments about Trump were merely a statement of her belief in democracy, not an endorsement of the incoming president, “I was trying to stress that I believe in democracy and the American Constitution, and it was that simple.”
