Online marketplace for exchanging notes

Getting notes for exam preparation has always remained one of the key concerns of students. The digital space has made access to notes for different exams convenient for students. A new platform Notesgen has not only explored this idea but already has over 1.5 million users worldwide and has a notes bank 1million plus notes from 1,50,000 authors from 207 countries.

Getting notes for exam preparation has always remained one of the key concerns of students. The digital space has made access to notes for different exams convenient for students. A new platform Notesgen has not only explored this idea but already has over 1.5 million users worldwide  and has a notes bank 1million plus notes from 1,50,000 authors from 207 countries.  

Notesgen is like an online marketplace for the exchange of study notes. Here students can upload their notes in 14 popular categories ranging from Engineering, Commerce, Arts, Science, Medical, Management, etc. and eight competitive exams, GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, Banking, UPSC, MBA, JEE, NEET, Law, &  GATE and content available on the platform is in 10 languages. 

A user can buy & sell study notes and can also earn with this process. On every approved note, Notesgen provides a user 5 NCash (5 notes upload) = Rs 1. Any content uploaded by the user at a specific price is available at a different price in different countries. Notesgen has created its own International Pricing System where students can earn more from their priced notes when bought from students in other countries.

The company has its mobile application for Android and iOS users.

The company was initially bootstrapped and is now funded by HNIs and total amount infused in the company is Rs 2.5 crore. The company is constantly expanding its reach and has found that the major traction is in north India with uploads of 15,000-20,000 notes and downloads of 40,000-42,000 per month. The company claims to get major traction from Chandigarh which is a hub of schools and colleges. According to Manak Gulati, Founder, Notesgen commented, “Chandigarh is an emerging market and the content quality from students from Chandigarh  is the best from north India. Chandigarh also provides valuable content against ASK feature as well (Student query platform). There is an immense bite from Chandigarh users”.
