Machine gun stolen by BSF constable from Jammu recovered in Jalandhar

JALANDHAR:A BSF constable, who had fled with a Light Machine Gun and over 10 magazines from a forward post at Beli Azmaat in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu on Sunday, was suspected to be hiding in Khurla Kingra area of the city on Tuesday.

Jalandhar, July 27  

A BSF constable, who had fled with a Light Machine Gun and over 10 magazines from a forward post at Beli Azmaat in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu on Sunday, was suspected to be hiding in Khurla Kingra area of the city on Tuesday.

The BSF constable, identified as Rajeev Ranjan from Darbhanga, had also allegedly stabbed his colleague over a trivial issue.

BSF and Punjab Police had sounded an alert. They raided a house and arrested his Bihar-based friend and recovered the weapons.  The constable suspecting police movement had fled in the morning leaving behind the weapons.
