Pithoragarh, July 9
A Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) court in Haldwani has awarded life imprisonment to a man for raping his 13-year-old daughter for three months. Besides, he has been fined Rs 10,000.
The incident came to light on June 17 last year when the girl lodged a complaint with the police. Later, the police registered a case under Section 376(2) of the IPC and Section 6 and 3/4 of the POCSO Act.
POCSO Special prosecution officer NS Negi said the court gave the judgment after hearing arguements from both parties.
