The police have failed to make any headway in the case pertaining to the murder of a cab driver here yesterday.Manoj Kumar, a resident of Rajpura who ran an Ola cab, was murdered with sharp weapons.

It is learnt that the police tried to study the footage from two CCTV cameras installed in the area today. Only the Indica car of the victim could be seen in the footage.

SHO Sukhwinder Singh said the police had not yet made a breakthrough in the case. He said personal enmity or sudden provocation seemed to be the reason behind the crime.

Asked whether the injured victim named anybody for the attack when he was  taken to the Civil Hospital by the police, the SHO said by the time the police reached the crime scene, the victim had become unconscious. He said the injury on the neck of Manoj Kumar was deep and there was a lot of blood loss.

According to reports, Manoj Kumar used to sleep in his cab at night most of the time instead of going to his home in Rajpura.
