Teenager found dead in Reasi

A 17-year-old girl was found dead at her home in the heart of Reasi town this evening.

The police reached the spot after being informed by the locals of the area about the incident and sent the charred body of the victim to District Hospital, Reasi, for the postmortem.

The girl was reportedly set afire using kerosene, the police said.

However, the police were not able to establish the motive behind the death.

The victim was the daughter of a police officer and was studying in class X.

“We were not able to enquire the girl’s parents as they are under shock. Investigation of the family members might provide a clue about the death of the victim. We hope to zero in on the suspect soon,” a senior police official said.
