State gets Film Friendly award

DEHRADUN:Uttarakhand has been conferred with the “Most Film Friendly State” award by the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Dehradun, April 20 

Uttarakhand has been conferred with the “Most Film Friendly State” award by the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The state has been chosen for the award in recognition of its efforts in providing conducive and friendly environment for shooting of films. 

Applications are invited from all the states every year after which selection for the award is made by a committee. For 2017, renowned film maker Ramesh Sippy was president of the committee. The award will be conferred on May 3 by the President of India in Delhi.

The Chief Executive Officer of Uttarakhand Film Development Council Dr Pankaj Kumar Pandey expressed his happiness at Uttarakhand being selected for the award. He said under the able leadership of Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat, the council works have gathered pace. Notably, the Chief Minister himself is president of the Uttarakhand Film Development Council.
