State signs nine pacts for tourism projects

DEHRADUN: The state government has signed nine memorandums of intent for projects across the state at the Inaugural Incredible India Tourism Investors Summit (IITIS) 2016 being held in New Delhi.

The state government has signed nine memorandums of intent for projects across the state at the Inaugural Incredible India Tourism Investors Summit (IITIS) 2016 being held in New Delhi.

According to a press release, the government signed agreements worth Rs 507 crore to set up a tent city, wellness resorts, yoga and wellness institutes, a hill resort in Tehri Lake and Dak bunglow operations and maintenance in Uttarakhand.

Speaking at the event on Saturday, Tourism Secretary and Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board CEO Sailesh Bagoli said “We are overwhelmed to receive such an enthusiastic response from investors who are keen to invest in the tourism sector in Uttarakhand. The government is fully committed to supporting all stakeholders contributing towards growth and development of tourism in the state. Our single window mechanism is a proactive step towards facilitating ease of doing business in the state. We are jointly working with YES Bank to prepare the new state tourism policy which will further boost development of tourism in the state.

It is to be mentioned here that YES Bank has tied up as knowledge partner for the Inaugural Incredible India Tourism Investors Summit 2016. The marquee event, held by the Ministry of Tourism at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi from September 21-23, is an initiative of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, in association with the Tourism Finance Corporation of India and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

The IITIS is a platform for domestic and international investors to meet project owners from across Indian states and the private sector.
