A bomb hoax at the Jalandhar Cantonment Railway Station sent police and the Indian Army on a wild goose chase on Tuesday.
A train between Jammu and Bihar, the Archana Express, was evacuated after railway control room at Ferozepur received a phone call about an explosive in it.
Massive search operations by Jalandhar and Punjab Armed police — and later by the Army — followed, but they were called off after they found nothing.
The train was later moved to Hoshiarpur railway line to clear traffic on the Jammu-Delhi route. Passengers were accommodated in other trains.enior police and army officials arrived at the spot.
