Dehradun, September 19

Tula’s Institute hosted a dance and music festival ‘Goonj’ by the Nrityanjali Academy on the college premises which concluded here on Sunday.

The two-day festival was dedicated to Pt Prabhu Shankar Mishra and Dr Madhukar Anand.

Sangeeta Jain was the chief guest on the occasion while Rajni Tyagi, principal of Shivalik Academy, was the guest of honour on the conclusion ceremony.

The event started with a lamp lighting ceremony, followed by a Ganesh Vandana by students of Nrityanjali Academy. A classical and semi-classical dance performance was also given by students of Nrityanjali. This was followed by a ghazal performance on ‘Hum tere shehar mai aaye hain’ by Rupesh Pathak, who was accompanied by Ajay Shankar Mishra on tabla and Dharmendra Mishra on harmonium.

Later, a kathak duet was presented by Namrata Raai and Shyam Kartik Mishra.

Sangeeta Jain emphasised the importance of such festivals and said, “It is very important to hold such events. These play a crucial role in promoting cultural heritage and strengthening the bonds of compassion, love and understanding.”

Sunil Kumar Jain, chairman of Tula’s Group; GG Garg, advisor of Tula’s Group; Suresh Kumar Bhagat, director of Shivalik and DIMT; Niharika Gandhi, finance director of DIMT; Rajesh Jain, principal pf Apollo International School, Sushil Bansal, Sanjay Singhal and Rajeev Garg were also present on the occasion.
