Kurukshetra, January 14
The Ambala district police have booked two firms for alleged unauthorised mining of gravel near Naraingarh subdivision.
In a police complaint against the firms, Bhupinder Singh, district mining officer of Ambala, said the two mining units were sealed by the Haryana State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) twice since August, 2018.
However, during an inspection on January 10, the seals were found broken. Stocks of gravel, allegedly procured through illegal mining, were found on the premises, the police complaint alleged.
A police spokesperson said a case under Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act and various sections of the IPC was registered against owners of the mining firms.
