A 20-year-old girl reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan of a hotel room here on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Sarita of Basant Vihar locality here.
She had checked in a local hotel on Wednesday. When she did not open the room on Thursday morning, the hotel staff informed the police.
Arya Nagar police station SHO Inspector Rakesh said the door was forcibly opened and the girl’s body was found hanging from the ceiling fan.
He said the girl was said to be mentally disturbed and, prima facie, it appeared to be a case of suicide. —TNS
