Aviation major proposes to set up Rs 400-cr R&D facility in state

CHANDIGARH: Pratt and Whitney, a global aviation major, has committed to setting up its R&D facility at an investment of Rs 400 crore in Haryana.

Pratt and Whitney, a global aviation major, has committed to setting up its R&D facility at an investment of Rs 400 crore in Haryana. The Singapore New Water Authority has agreed to work with Haryana for setting up a drinking water institute and rejuvenating 14,000 water bodies in the state.

Besides, several leading companies have evinced interest in setting up units in the state. These include Hyflux, Ecosoft, Ascot, Mapletree Logistics etc. Some CEOs have evinced a keen interest in setting up smart cities and healthcare units.

These offers were made when Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who is leading a nine-member delegation, went round the MRO facility of Pratt & Whitney to understand the dynamics for developing such a facility in Haryana. The delegation also visited the new water facility of the New Water Authority of Singapore and had a roundtable with top CEOs on the second day of the visit to Singapore today.

Khattar addressed a closed-door meeting with 30 top Singapore-based CEOs and leading investors in the fields of infrastructure and real estate. The CEOs evinced a keen interest in setting up smart cities, solid waste treatment and waste water treatment plants, healthcare units and the insurance sector.

Sharing details of such projects as Global City at Gurugram, Logistics Hub at Nangal Chaudhary, Mass Rapid Transit System between Gurgram to Bawal, Aviation Hub at Hissar, and the Global Economic Corridor along the KMP Expressway, Khattar made a strong case for investment in the state.

Vipul Goel, Industries Minister, shared with CEOs the conducive business environment the state had generated for the growth of enterprises in the state through policy framework, incentive structure, and ease of doing business.
