Farmers at receiving end under BJP rule, says ex-CM

SONEPAT: Leader of the Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday alleged farmers in the state had been the worst sufferers under the BJP government as, he claimed, they had not been getting remunerative prices for their produce.

Sonepat, November 17

Leader of the Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday alleged farmers in the state had been the worst sufferers under the BJP government as, he claimed, they had not been getting remunerative prices for their produce.

“The government has been harassing farmers by introducing new rules and regulations for selling their produce,” he told the media during his visit to the district’s Gumar village.

On Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala’s remarks about the role of the Opposition, Hooda said the role of the Opposition would start after the government started working. “The government has not yet started functioning,” the former Chief Minister said.

The government will be appreciated if it works for public welfare and criticised if it does not fulfils the promises made to people,” he said, adding it was the duty of the Opposition to raise public issues before the government. —OC
