Jaswinder Singh Sandhu, former Agriculture Minister and sitting MLA from Pehowa, passed away at the PGIMER, Chandigarh, on Saturday.
Sandhu, a veteran INLD leader, was battling cancer for a year.
Sixtythree-year-old Sandhu was elected to Vidhan Sabha four times from his home turf in the Pehowa Assembly segment.
Family sources said his last rites would be performed at Gumthla Garhu on Sunday.
He is survived by his widow Amarjit Kaur and three sons. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of the MLA.
