Panipat man shot dead; four booked

PANIPAT: A 35-year-old man was shot dead on Balla-Rerkalan road in Madlauda area of the district late on Sunday.

A 35-year-old man was shot dead on Balla-Rerkalan road in Madlauda area of the district late on Sunday. The police have booked four persons.

The police have handed over the body to the victim’s kin after the post-mortem. The deceased has been identified as Surender of Dharamgarh village in Madlauda.

Dinesh, brother of the deceased, in his complaint to the police said, “Ravi of Balla village in Karnal district came to my home and spoke to my younger brother Surender about money. Ravi told my brother that he would clear it in the evening.

“After that, both went away on Ravi’s motorcycle. We got information in the evening that someone had shot Surender.

Dinesh alleged that Surender had earlier clashed with Kuldeep alias Kala, Om Prakash and Raju of the village. A case was pending in court in which Surender was to appear as witness.

Dinesh alleged the trio had conspired with Ravi to murder Surender. — TNS
