The municipal council imposed a fine of Rs 30,000 on six hotels in Dalhousie for spreading filth in the open during a surprise inspection.

An official of the council said here today that the initiative was a part of its cleanliness campaign launched to curb littering in and around the town in view of keeping the town clean.

The step was taken by the municipal council for the betterment of the town cautioning those who were careless in maintaining cleanliness, the official maintained. — OC
