Absconding accused arrested, sent to police custody

NURPUR: Following a tip-off, the Indora police arrested an accused, Manmohan Singh, alias Billu of Bai-Indoria village, who has been absconding, late last evening.

Following a tip-off, the Indora police arrested an accused, Manmohan Singh, alias Billu of Bai-Indoria village, who has been absconding, late last evening.

A case under Sections 332, 353 and 354 of the IPC was registered against him on February 16 at the Indora police station for allegedly assaulting a woman patwari, while she was in her office.

He also allegedly molested the complainant woman employee in an inebriated condition.

The woman employee had registered the case at the local police station. She alleged that the accused had come inside the office in an inebriated condition and demanded a copy of some revenue record.

When she started checking the revenue record, she was assaulted and molested by the accused. He was on the run after the registration of the police case.

Navdeep Singh, DSP, Nurpur, said the accused was produced in the court today and remanded in police custody for two days for further investigations and the probe was on.
