KANGRA, November 28

The BJP led by Vikram Thakur, MLA, Jaswan Pragpur, today started a 33-km padyatra from Sansarpur Terrace against the state government for its alleged negative and vindictive politics and ignoring the Assembly segment.

BJP workers carrying placards and flags gathered at Sansarpur Terrace and raised slogans against the government. Vikram Thakur said the three-day march would culminate on November 30 at Dada Siba.

He said during three years of the Virbhadra rule, his constituency was ignored because of the Chief Minister’s vindictive politics. He said the road condition was worst in his constituency.

He alleged that being an MLA, he had approached the Congress government but in vain. He said he raised this issue within and outside the Assembly but the attitude of the government was negative. Thakur said he was forced to resort to three-day march and it was their right to lodge the protest to awaken government.

He said all sections of society were affected by this government’s vindictive politics. Vikram alleged that the tourism too had been adversely affected by bad road conditions. He said the march was aimed at welfare of the people.

The protesters reached Bhandhol village after completing 13 km. Vikram said tomorrow it would start from Bhandhol to Souel Khad to cover 13 km. Span Sood, BJP spokesman, said in view of the march, the PWD started filling the potholes on the Dada Siba Sansarpur Terrace road.
