Mandi, March 18

CITU will intensify its campaign across the nation to oust the BJP from the Centre, said Kashmir Singh Thakur, national secretary, CITU, here. CITU organized a two-day meeting here in Mandi to chalk out a strategy for the LS elections.

He said that CITU has decided to field Dalip Kayasth as its candidate from Mandi parliamentary constituency to contest the Lok Sabha elections. CITU will unite workers to vote against the BJP because the BJP-led Central government had failed to protect the rights of labourers. “We will apprise the common people, especially labourers, of the failure of the BJP which did nothing to implement labour laws meant to curb exploitation of labourers by industrialists. The Central government has promoted anti—labour policies during its five-year regime”, he added.

“During the last five years of the BJP regime, unemployment has increased rapidly. The economic growth of the nation had been adversely affected due to demonetization. Lakhs of people lost their jobs”, he said. — TNS
