Nadda leads Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on The Ridge

Union Health Minister JP Nadda on Friday participated in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan — ‘Swachata Hi Seva’ — and cleaned the area around The Ridge.

While participating in the campaign, Nadda said the abhiyan was being launched in the country from September 15 to October 2. The objective of the abhiyan is to make the country clean for the citizens who are also taking part in the mission, he added.

Nadda said the Swachh Bharat campaign had got praise from across the world. “It is the people who produce garbage that in turn breeds diseases, which consequently harm people. And it is the duty of all of us to clean the environment”, he added.

Education minister Suresh Bhardwaj, Health Minister Vipin Parmar and Shimla Mayor Kusum Sadret and Deputy Mayor Rakesh Sharma and officials of the district administration and municipal corporation also participated in the campaign urging the people to make the city clean.

Students of Portmore School also participated in the campaign and cleaned the area around The Ridge.
