The Army, in collaboration with paramilitary forces, will organise accuracy paragliding at Billing every year.
This was stated by Lt General Ranvir Singh at the concluding ceremony of the event on Wednesday.
He said now the Paragliding Accuracy Cup would be a regular feature and Army jawans from all over India would participate in the event.
The Army had realised that Billing was one of the best sites for adventure sports in the world.
He said the three-day event was a great success in which 40 jawans of the Army and paramilitary forces participated.
Nayak Ashish of the Army bagged the first position by securing 1,179 points, while Jai Kuppaswami got the second position by securing 1,466 points and Nayak Sunil finished third by securing 1,567 marks.
In reply to a question, Ranvir Singh said the Army was ready to face any challenge on the international border. “We are committed to providing security and maintaining integrity of the country,” he added.
