Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said the BJP would give a befitting reply to the Congress if the party submitted a chargesheet against the state government.

“I am not in favour of carrying forward the trend of submitting a chargesheet against the state government. The Congress should think out of box to play a constructive role of an Opposition in state politics. We have five years stock of Congress wrongdoings. If they start accusations against the state government, we will not refrain from giving them a befitting reply”, he said.

“There are several other ways to protest against the state government in our democratic system and we should shun this old practice of submitting chargsheeet”, he remarked.

The Chief Minister was here at the Sarkaghat Assembly segment of Mandi district to lay the foundation stone of various development works. He laid the foundation stone of Rs 14-crore combined office building at Baldwara and 33KV substation at Talao.

Addressing a public meeting at Baldwara, the Chief Minister said an additional amount of Rs 26 crore had been sanctioned by the Centre for Sarkaghat Assembly constituency under the PMGSY. A 33 KV substation would be constructed at Semala to solve the voltage fluctuation problem of the area. He announced the opening of an IPH subdivision at Badrota and a PWD subdivision at Badharwara.

Thakur said the state government had submitted a project worth Rs 157 crore for channelisation of Seer Khud.

Earlier, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of a 40 meter-long bridge over Jabothi Khud on the Bahi-Sulpur road. He inaugurated a lift water supply scheme which will cover habitations of Baldwara, Khudla and Jehmat. The Chief Minister performed bhoomi pujan of Patraghat, Jawali, Gehra, Chandesh roads at Chandesh and inaugurated a science lab of Government Senior Secondary School, Chandesh. He also performed bhoomi pujan of the Bah-Gahar link road at Chandesh to be completed by spending an amount of about Rs 4 crore.

He announced upgrade of a veterinary dispensary at Ponta to veterinary hospital, construction of an indoor stadium at Degree College Sarkaghat, upgrade of police post Hatli to a police station and constructions of a PWD rest house at Baldwara. He announced that science blocks would be constructed in five senior secondary schools of the area in a phased manner.
