- Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Monday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and urged him to grant an industrial package to Himachal on the lines of Northeastern states
- He demanded that the rail network should be strengthened and pace of work accelerated on the Rohtang tunnel so that the tunnel is open throughout the year
- The PM appreciated his performance in 100 days and assured all possible support for development of the state
- Modi asked the CM to identify three areas and work on these to become the role model for the country.
- The PM said new initiatives reflected the commitment of the state to improving the state and lives of the common man
- During the meeting, the CM urged the Prime Minister to provide more funds under phase-II of UDAN Yojana so that residents could take the benefit of the scheme. TNS
