JAMMU: The Amateur Theatre Group presented a Hindi play titled ‘Andhar Yatra’ at Abhinav Theatre here today.

The Amateur Theatre Group presented a Hindi play titled ‘Andhar Yatra’ at Abhinav Theatre here today.

It is written by Govind Deshpande, translated in Hindi by Vasant Dev under the direction of Sunil Parkash Sharma.

The objective was to introduce emerging young directors and showcase their talent.

The play was based on politics and its influence on society as it has overshadowed the whole system. It portrayed how ugly politics has become. The play revolves around a woman who is trapped in today’s complex circumstances and her encounter with various conditions due to contemporary politics as convenient means of exploitation.

The artistes who performed in the play include Sunil Parkash Sharma as Shripadh, Ankit Sharma as Ashwath, Sunaina Kumari as Vasundhara, Vivek Sangotra as Vice Chancellor, Sandeep Rattan Verma as Sadah Shivrao, Mohit Chib as Mahabal and Aman as Naukar.
