Militants decamp with weapons in J&K’s Budgam district

SRINAGAR: Two weapons were snatched by suspected militants from the guards deployed at the residence of a retired police officer in Budgam district on Sunday evening.

Two weapons were snatched by suspected militants from the guards deployed at the residence of a retired police officer in Budgam district on Sunday evening.

Police said two carbines were snatched away by militants from the house of retired SSP Sheikh Ghulam Mohammad at Gopalpora Kralpora area of Chadoora.

“The gunmen overpowered the guards and decamped with two carbines,” a police officer said.

Security forces have cordoned the area to look for the militants.

Police have started investigation.
