After the Chief Minister announced regularisation of daily rated workers, the Sadr-e-Riyasat Ordinance (SRO) was issued today under which around 60,000 workers will be regularised. The SRO was signed on Wednesday and issued this evening.

The daily rated workers had been demanding regularisation of their services for the past many years. Some of them have crossed the age limit of 50 years.

As per the SRO, the Finance Department has announced that whosoever has been engaged as casual, seasonal or any other worker through an appointment letter or otherwise on a daily rated basis for rendering casual or seasonal services in a department is authorised for regularisation.

The government has made it clear that those workers will not be regularised who have been engaged after March 17, 2015, and who have not registered themselves through the Aadhaar-based biometric identification system.

Moreover, the SRO has separated them as skilled and unskilled workers and classified them into three categories depending on their service to their departments.

“The skilled workers who have completed more than 20 years of service will be paid Rs 24,000 per month, skilled workers who have completed more than 15 years of service will be paid Rs 18,000 per month and those who have completed 10 years of service will be paid Rs 13,000 per month,” the SRO reads.

An amount of Rs 20,000 will be paid to the unskilled workers who have completed 20 years of service, Rs 15000 for workers who have completed 15 years of service and Rs 10,000 for those who have completed 10 years of service.

“Other workers will be regularised as and when they complete 10 years of service,” said a source. The CMon December 13 announced that the government would regularise 60,000 daily rated workers.
