SRINAGAR: Six films were screened on the second day of the Kashmir World Film Festival at Tagore Hall in Srinagar on Wednesday.

Srinagar, June 20

Six films were screened on the second day of the Kashmir World Film Festival at Tagore Hall in Srinagar on Wednesday.

The festival is being presented by Zee Cinema and Zee TV networks and J&K Tourism is the title sponsor.

Asghar Hassan Samoon, financial commissioner, Revenue, J&K Government, was the chief guest on the occasion.

The films screened include amateur filmmaker Sajad Bhat’s “Life-A dream”, Bilal A Jan’s “The Lost Childhood”, Ashish Kumar’s “Beauty of Life” and Musa Syeed’s “Valley of Saints” along with “Budshah” (Kashmiri) and “Bodyguard” (Iranian).

In silent short film “Life-A dream”, the filmmaker gave a brief account about the conflict in the Valley, “The Lost Childhood” talked about child labour, “Beauty of Life” focused on the acid attack victims of India while “Valley of Saints” revolved around Gulzar, a boatman, who plans to get away from his hometown but is derailed when he works for a scientist who discovers the local lake is being polluted.

In the morning session, Bollywood trade analyst Komal Nahta interacted with the students, film buffs and talked about techniques of reviewing the movies. He also advised the students not to lose the hope and move ahead in their lives to pursue their careers.

Festival director Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan said: “I am overwhelmed by the response of the participants and film lovers to the festival.”
