Training session on RTI Act concludes

JAMMU: A five-day training session organised by the J&K Institute of Management, Public Administration and Rural Development for its employees to help them impart information to people under the RTI Act concluded on Friday.

A five-day training session organised by the J&K Institute of Management, Public Administration and Rural Development for its employees to help them impart information to people under the RTI Act concluded on Friday.

The programme was organised under the office management training course for junior officers from the departments of health, education, rural development, handicrafts and agriculture. It was addressed by Raman Sharma, an RTI activist. He spoke on the technical aspects of the Act. Manju Kapoor, coordinator; Dr Rewa Sharma, Director, Trainings (Jammu), and other guests interacted with the participants.

Citing Section 5(3) and 5(4) of the J&K Right to Information Act, 2009, resourcepersons informed the participants that providing information under the RTI Act was the duty of the public information officers. — TNS
