Renowned Valley-based physiotherapist Dr Ridwana Sanam has been awarded the 10th National Women Excellence Award-2017.

Dr Ridwana Sanam has been awarded on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

The programme was part of the Yog Vidya Jagriti Abhiyan — International Holistic Health Movement in association with the North Eastern Council, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), and Government of India, officials said.

Dr Ridwana has also received felicitation from SaMaPa in recognition of her achievements and great work in the health sector, bringing laurels to the state.

She is the founder and managing director of a premier Gurgaon-based health enterprise and franchise model in India named ‘KRV Healthcare and Physiotherapy’ that provides excellent and affordable physiotherapy services to the patients.

Dr Ridwana was appreciated by former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam in 2013 for her endeavours in preventing more than 55,000 surgeries of osteoarthritis, slipped disk and anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries.

She has been honoured with different national and international awards.
