Walk to promote heritage tourism

Srinagar: With an aim to promote heritage tourism, a walk through the old city’s heritage corridor of the Mughal era was held on Tuesday from Pathar Masjid to Khanqah-e-Moula on the banks of the Jhelum.



Srinagar: With an aim to promote heritage tourism, a walk through the old city’s heritage corridor of the Mughal era was held on Tuesday from Pathar Masjid to Khanqah-e-Moula on the banks of the Jhelum. As part of the World Heritage Week celebrations, the Department of Tourism, Kashmir, in collaboration with the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), organised the walk for around 75 students from the University of Kashmir and the Architectural College, Bemina. Kashmir Tourism Director Mahmood A Shah said the old city in Srinagar was an important heritage corridor, which needed to be promoted. The students were later taken to the Faculty of Fisheries at the SKUAST. tns
