Jalandhar, January 10

Came into existence barely a month ago, a newly formed Bharatiya Insaaf Party has decided to contest the Punjab Assembly elections.

Addressing the media here today, party president Gurbaj Singh said they had identified 15 seats to contest in the upcoming elections, whereas they were planning to form an alliance with other parties too.

He said that the Akali-BJP alliance in Punjab had deteriorated the condition of the people due to mismatched policies for the poor. The drug menace, sand mafia, spurious insecticides and pesticides have ruined the society, he said.

Gurbaj said in such prevailing circumstances in the state, the voter was standing at the crossroads and was unable to decide whom to vote. Besides the Congress and the SAD-BJP alliance, the AAP has failed to appease voters with their policies, he claimed.
