Officiating Deputy Commissioner Kulwant Singh and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP Rural) Navjot Singh Mahal asked the banks to play a proactive role for opening new vistas of self-employment for the skilled youth by extending loans.

Addressing the gathering after inaugurating a branch of Syndicate Bank on 120 Feet road, Basti Danishmandan, they said: “The banks must make efforts to extend easy loans to the skilled persons so that they can live life with dignity and pride.”

They told that such efforts would help in opening new avenues for the self-employment for the skilled youth, besides boosting the economic growth of the country.

They said: “Such efforts are the need of the hour to make the country a progressive and front-ranking in the world.”

They also stated that “The banks can play a leading role in transforming the destiny of weaker and underprivileged sections by extending a helping hand to them, adding that an easy loan to this stratum of society will act as a catalyst to ameliorate a lot of poor and disadvantaged sections.”

“The very intent and purpose behind the concept of nationalisation of the banking sector can only be served provided the majority of economically deprived sections of the society are propelled towards financial inclusion,” they added.

Vijay Kumar, general manager, Syndicate Bank, zonal office, Delhi highlighted the achievements of the bank. He said: “The bank has been serving the country from more than 100 years with utmost dedication and commitment.”

Earlier, Syndicate Bank DGM, regional officer, Ludhiana Ghanshyam, senior manager M Ved Parkash, branch manager Jagdish Lal welcomed the Deputy Commissioner and SSP Rural.
