Pensioners to get accounts linked with Aadhaar cards

Jalandhar: The Union Government has asked pensioners to get their Aadhaar cards linked with their pension accounts to avoid visiting the banks for live certificate every year.

The Union Government has asked pensioners to get their Aadhaar cards linked with their pension accounts to avoid visiting the banks for live certificate every year. 

In Jalandhar, as many as 4,701 pensioners have been drawing Union Governments' pension, out of which 2,832 have already got their Aadhaar cards. In a campaign launched few days ago, as many as 343 persons got their Aadhaar cards linked with pension accounts, making a total of 3,175. 

An official spokesman today informed about this adding that as per the directions given by the Secretary to the Government of India, Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, it was appealed to all pensioners to call their respective branches of banks and apprise them of the benefits of seeding Aadhaar to their pension accounts.
