Sports goods worth lakhs gutted in factory

Goods worth Rs 5-6 lakh were gutted when a fire factory in the industrial area caught fire this morning.

Situated in a 20-marla area, sports goods factory Amarnath Mahajan and Sons caught fire. While the incident was reported at about 8 am, vehicles of the Fire Safety Department reached the spot immediately and doused the flames.

Two fire safety vehicles reached the spot and the fire was doused in about 20 minutes. While the fire started from the room where the sewing machines of the factory had been kept, the equipment in the room was completely gutted, causing losses worth lakhs.
