Education Secretary to meet school principals

The Education Secretary, Krishan Kumar, has invited all principals of the smart schools of the state tomorrow to discuss utilisation of grants provided to the schools. As many as 261 principals of the smart schools of various districts have been invited to attend the meeting.

The circular has been sent to District Education Officers (Secondary and Primary), in which it has been mentioned that the grants have been given to the schools.

The principals have been accorded the grants and they are using the money for the growth of the schools.

A smart school principal from Jalandhar said: “We have made a list regarding the things on which we have spent the money. We have also clicked pictures, showing the achievements of the students.”

“ Besides we have also made sure that we do not miss any achievement that our school has made in every field,” he added.

Another smart school principal from rural area said it was appreciable that the principals had been called to attend the meeting and the secretary would monitor everything that where we were spending the amount that was being sent to us.

He said it would definitely bring transparency in the process under which the grants had been spent for the development of the schools.

From urban area, a teacher of the government smart school said they had been involved in the process of making proper notes for the development of our school.

Lately, in an event, the Education Minister OP Soni had said the government had so far built 2,200 smart schools in the state and would achieve the target of 5,000 smart schools by March 31.

The Education Minister had said the state government also introduced pre-primary classes in the government schools to strengthen the foundation of school education in the state.
