Veteran actress Shyama, 82, passed away in Mumbai on Tuesday. She was suffering from age-related ailments. The actress was best known for her roles in movies like Barsaat, Aar Paar and Tarana. Her funeral was held at Mumbai’s Marine Lines on Tuesday evening and was reportedly not attended by any popular faces of the industry. However, there were a few Bollywood celebs who expressed grief on their social media. 

Rishi Kapoor tweeted, “RIP. Shyamaji. We did Hathyaar together but my dad and Shammi uncle worked with her. Was married to Fali Mistry, a DOP I loved and so did he.” 

Actress and talk show host, Tabassum also tweeted, “40’s aur 50’s ke daur ki mashoor heroine Shyamaji, meri pyari Shyama Apa aaj is duniya se chaligayin, Allah unko Jannat naseeb kare.” 

Naved Jafri wrote, “The gorgeous shyamaji passed away today leaving behind her beautiful memories, she will always be remembered! May her soul rest in peace. Deepest Condolences to her family #ripshyamaji #Shyama”
