Blue-eyed with long hair, he's turned hardy in his next film. Harbhajan Mann says it is going to be a watershed role for both his career and Punjabi cinema as Gadaar - The Traitor goes on screen this weekend. Coming for the promotion of the movie for the second time, he has been stealing time for sleep during travel during the relentless promotion of the movie.

"Promotion is a necessity now. With so much choice of entertainment and media, you've got to promote to be visible," he says. "I realised it during my last movie Haani, which was such a fine film and I had received great appreciation for it. But the movie could not do as well at the box office, just because of weak promotion. So, I have been to many cities in India and abroad for the promotion of Gadaar," says Mann.

His film Jee Aya Nu started a new era for Punjabi cinema, and being a suspense thriller, this movie too is going to open new gateways for a different genre of Punjabi cinema, he says.

With this movie, the actor in him is getting restless to perform challenging roles. "Though singing comes naturally to me and would always be close to my heart, it is the actor that wants to come out and perform now," he says. That is the reason he would perform characters which are meaningful and different.

“Like this movie, you'd see a completely different me in CM Sahab, my forthcoming movie,” he says.

Though Mann has got offers to do Bollywood movies as well, he wants to work for Punjabi cinema. He is content and at peace with what he has been able to achieve in the past 23 years. And that is the reason he is set for his next innings as an actor.
