Now, it’s official

Last year, John Abraham had himself confirmed that he would be walking into the footsteps of Aamir Khan for a sequel to the latter’s 1999 movie Sarfarosh. Now, nine months later, film’s director John Mathew Matthan has confirmed that John is not a part of the cop-drama anymore.

In a recent interaction, the director said, “I never confirmed that John is doing my film, nor did I mention any other actor’s name to the media. I am not aware of what he has said. We were in negotiation, but, as of now, nothing has materialised. I am currently giving the finishing touches to the script. Only once we sign someone, I will be able to comment on the casting.”

Sharing details, a source says, “The actor was in touch with Matthan over the past several months as he was developing the script. The two were said to be co-producing the film. However, the economics of the project is not working out, which is why it hasn’t gone on the floors yet. On his part, John has committed to other films.”
