44 teachers, 1,637 students found absent

LUDHIANA:Acting on the directions of the Punjab Government and Deputy Commissioner, various teams led by a gazetted officer conducted checks at various schools of the district today.

Acting on the directions of the Punjab Government and Deputy Commissioner, various teams led by a gazetted officer conducted checks at various schools of the district today. 

As many as 44 teachers and 1,637 students were found absent from schools.

Instructions were also issued to school heads to arrange proper potable water for students, cleanliness of school and maintenance of other infrastructure available in schools. While giving this information, Deputy Commissioner Pardeep Kumar Agarwal said the District Education Officers (Secondary and Primary) have been directed to investigate the reasons behind absentees from schools. He said this type of checking in offices and schools would continue in future as well.
